Your Travel Experience with Avellera
Embark on a half-day tour to the stunning Lake District, St. Wolfgang, and St. Gilgen—one of Austria's most picturesque regions, where Emperor Franz Josef and his family enjoyed their summer vacations.
Your journey begins in Fuschl, where the former Prince Archbishops held royal hunts. The impressive hunting lodge, set on a peninsula, was later owned by the Habsburgs and is now home to one of the world's most exclusive hotels.
Next, you'll drive to the charming town of St. Gilgen by Lake Wolfgang, the birthplace of Mozart's mother. Depending on the seasonal schedule, you may take a boat cruise across the lake to the famous town of St. Wolfgang (boat cruise not included in the tour price).
Enjoy breathtaking views during your 50-minute ride over the crystal-clear Lake Wolfgang. The historic town of St. Wolfgang, dating back over 1,000 years, is surrounded by magnificent lakes, forests, and spectacular mountains. Explore the town and visit the Catholic Church, which features a double-winged Gothic altar by Michael Pacher from the late 15th century. Don't miss the chance to enjoy a coffee break at the famous "White Horse Inn" hotel, situated right by Lake St. Wolfgang, where you can soak in the stunning scenery. On your way back, you'll pass Lake Mondsee, another beautiful holiday destination near Salzburg.
